Passing time in Tioga County

Monday 27 July 2020

What a day it started with a dentist appt for me and time for Diane to start her prep for her colonoscopy.  I was in and out of the dentist in no time but you know Diane had a long day no food at all.

Tuesday 28 July 2020

Procedure day.  Up at 4am take meds no breakfast and off to Elmira Hospital we go.  Diane hasn't had a thing to eat for over 36 hours and the procedure is not until noon.  But she actually felt good enough to stop for lunch before heading home.  Back home she waited for the pot roast to finish cooking so we could eat diner.  After diner with two good meals back in her system she was feeling much better and life as I knew it was getter better also.  A glass of wine after diner and woo-who she is back to normal.

Wednesday 29 July 2020

We had a nice breakfast cooked on the grill.  W didn't eat outside it is still almost 70 degrees in the mornings.  I headed back to the dentist for a cleaning after lunch and again I was the only one there  in and out in a half hour. Then I had the list Diane sent.  Stops at the post office, grocery store, wine store, Pag Omar's and finally for gas. That took longer than my appointment.  Back home unload and headed up to Jen and Greg's for hog maw sausages and broccoli salad.  A nasty thunderstorm chased us in but didn't last long.  We were back outside, cooked on the grill and sat by the fire afterward.  Another nice evening.

Mostly all buck!!
Diane headed to town right after breakfast and I did my walk out to Pine camp and back.  Diane came back we unloaded the truck she did her walk while I cleaned up.  We decided on wings from the VFW for diner so we drove over and back the back way and saw over 80 deer including a whole flock of buck close to the campground. What a good ride and the wings were great too.

Our site at Cole's
Moving day.  We are moving less than ten mile to Cole's in Middlebury Center.  Check out time is not until 3pm.  And you may have already guessed it was almost three until we were ready to pull out.  In our defense we had breakfast on the grill and wanted to shower, do dishes and fill the tank and containers with water since we won't have any for a few days.  After the long 15 minute drive we arrived safe and sound.  It was very hot and humid so I hooked up just the electric, put the awning out and did as little as possible until it cooled down a bit.  The usual moving day meal, burgers on the grill.

Saturday 1 August 2020

We had a quick breakfast, cleaned up and headed to the rail to trails.  After we were done Diane noticed the liner in my helmet was coming lose and remember..... I ran over the other helmet.  Back home showered and went to Mansfield to the bike shop to check on helmets and a new bike rack.  Ended up buying two helmets and ordering a new rack.  His bike inventory was very low and the accessories weren't a whole lot better. I guess the covid has a lot people out exercising and that plus all the plants and factories shut down for months has inventory way down.  Since we were in town and there were a few antique stores we haven't visited yet this trip, we just had to stop in.  It wasn't all that bad, three stores to shop in and only one purchase.  I told Diane we will need another storage unit.  Drove home the back way just enjoying the day.  Back home I grilled fresh sausage and Diane made fried turnips.  They were OK but I don't think we will have any time soon.

Sunday 2 August 2020

Saw this on our ride,
it made us both laugh.
There is a water tank in
the red part!!
Scrapple and eggs for breakfast, Yum.  Diane went to town for wine and drugs.  I stayed home searched the internet and found a Moho in VA we may go check out.  It is for sale by owner which means we would have to sell ours privately, something I don't want to do as we'll  lose $4,000 on taxes alone.  Maybe we will just check it out for style and room and wait for one to come up from a dealer.  Anyway she returned and we packed the cooler and drove to Coudersport to check out a few campgrounds and again came home the back roads.  We did notice several businesses/museums are closed all season because of the covid.
