Winnebago is now behind us!!

Sunday 4 August 2019

We got up, no hurry to get on the road since we only had about 130 miles to travel.  About 9:00 a couple showed up looking for a site at the service center, so they chose our.  We talked for a while and told them we would probably be gone by 10:30, so they could come back then.  Another couple had stopped in Saturday night and put chairs up in the site next to our to reserve for them selves and showed up about 10:00 to pull in.  We were ready about 10:15, and were saying our good-byes to Jack and Sandi when the people taking our site pulled in.  So we hurried and got out of there....finally on the road again.  We headed up to Minnesota, via the county and state roads, a nice day for a drive and the new shocks and stabilizer made a very noticeable difference in the ride.  Our first stop was about 12:00 for lunch, a little road side pull off.  We took Rudy out and noticed 2 ears of corn sitting in a plastic bag, and a bucket there to use the honor system to purchase.  Now back inside we joked about who would buy corn that was sitting in the Sun, on the ground, in a plastic bag, well a little red car pulled in and they got out and took the corn...about 5 min later a pick-up truck pulled in and was looking for corn, but it was all gone....only in small town Iowa.   The rest of the ride was pretty uneventful, one more stop just so we didn't arrive to early and we still were there and parked before 2:30.  A restful evening a the CG, a load of laundry done, hooray for full hookups and off to bed for the two of us.

We got up, had a quick breakfast, showered and then headed out.  First stop was Bed Bath and

was huge.
Beyond for coffee and a few other things then we headed off to the Mall of America.  We planned on having lunch and checking it out for a little then head back home.  Well first off, it took us an hour to find a restaurant that didn't have a waiting line, we ate at the Cadillac Ranch and the food was very good.  After that I think we walked around the Mall for 3 or 4 more hours, checking out a couple of stores (we found gummy chicken feet, yuck), but mostly just people watching.  I think there was just about anything imaginable there, and a few things that were

unbelievable. Never knew just how big that place was, and it was packed.    All in all, it was a fun time and we had lots to talk about on the way home.  About 3 miles from the CG my alarm went off for a severe thunder storm warning in our area.  Well just as Brad made the last turn towards home, the rear view mirrors had black ominous clouds staring at us.  Pedal to the metal and we pulled in just as the giant drops were starting and got inside before the rain actually hit.  The storm was horrific and we were glad to be home.  I guess about 7:00, we decided to take the shuttle to the casino and check that out.  About 9:00, we both walked out about $20.00 ahead.  Back home, a stroll for Rudy and off to bed for the two of us.

Tuesday 6 August 2019

Up today, breakfast, a load of laundry and scrub the Moho time.  After 2.5 weeks without hook ups, the inside of this place needed scrubbed.  I would scrub, look at the computer trying to find a site for us and the Burkett's for the Labor Day Weekend, scrub, computer search, scrub, search until I had a headache, so we took a walk. I probably called 30 places, they were either booked or only had 1 site available.  We did discuss just making reservations at 2 different campgrounds, but what fun would that be.   About 4:00 we got cleaned up and headed to the casino, a little fun time and dinner at the buffet.  We lost a little money (our luck), but we had a good time and Rudy sure was happy to see us when we got back.

Wednesday 7 August 2019

Brad made breakfast on the grill, while I put in another load of laundry, or so I thought.  I hit the start button, nothing, we got to checking and thankfully it isn't the washer, but it seems most of our outlets are dead, and the panel box is flashing 'brown out'.  Oh no, so we eat breakfast, I talked to Teresa a

few times about our trip, plans are finally made, so I leave Brad to deal with the electrical issue and I head to the grocery store.  Back home, electric is fixed.  Turned out it was a loose feed wire on the transfer switch.  So now it's the fix it mode for Brad He replaced a couple of lights that needed fixed, replace the seat belt fastener, tour apart both bathroom fans and cleaned them, and now it's shower and wine time.
