27 July through 3 August 2019
Saturday and Sunday we stayed at the rally grounds taking advantage of free camping. Saturday was
a steady flow of campers heading out but we were surprised how many stayed. We walked around talking to folks and said our goodbyes. Sunday most everyone else left, probably less than 10 percent and most of us were waiting on the service center to open Monday. Diane had a ten dollar gift card from Winnebago and she forgot to spend it so we decided to stay.
Monday morning I went to the service center to see if they could put the new slide out motors on our one slide while Diane went to spend to gift certificate. After some talking to the service manager, we were on the list for Tuesday service.
Tuesday they took the coach in at 6:00 AM, got it back at 3pm.
No work had been done but they did receive approval from the warranty people to do the work. All day we walked around the parking lot, went to town(takes 25 minutes) walked around.
Wednesday had the coach ready at 7am. We got it back at 4pm not quite done. All day we walked around the parking lot went to town(takes 20 minutes)
Thursday took the coach in at 7am told the technician about a loose seal that needed fixed. All day we walked around the parking lot went to
town (takes about 15 minutes) We got it back at 4pm it was done. But they had to replace the seals inside and out on the slide out which was 2 thousand more than the original estimate. Well, what do you says. It needed done.
We backed into our spot grabbed a glass of wine and relaxed. We decided to stay until Sunday(it's free) since most of the state parks are full over the weekend. The weather has been exceptional, highs in the 70's great for walking around.
Friday we started making plans to head west to meet Buddy and Teresa in Dickinson ND. It is not as easy as we thought it would be, many places are booked, especially on the weekends. We do have reservations made for Sunday night. We made the famous ham steak on the grill Friday evening to share with friends Jack and Sandy. Sandy made a nice refreshing fruit and marshmallow salad. We sat out until 8 o'clock then the bugs chased us in.
Saturday was clean up, went for water and to dump, trip to the store, and rearranged the basement storage area. Still trying to fill the last few spots we need to get to Dickinson. We have been here since the 16th of July some 19 days and we are ready to go. A nice meal with Sandi and Jack, then inside and time for bed for us all!!
We went to the Winnebago Parts store on one of our trips and found an amazing Indian Motorcycle Collection. Here are some of the Pics: Indian Motorcycle Collection
