Hot, Cold, Hot again!!

Tuesday  June 29 2021

I know we are a little late with last weeks update but it wasn't our fault.  Apparently as the stars aligned last week they sucked our Wifi service right out of the sky.  Good news we seem to be back on-line at least for now.
So we had our first visitors(family) for three days.  Mike and Karen were here and we a great time didn't do anything but eat and sit around the camp fire.  The first night was warm so we all sat around the fire at a distance.  Second day was cool we sat close to the fire with sweat shirts on.  We had just one rain shower go by and lucky Mike got to stand outside and cook the whole time.  He was wet but the food(shrimp boil) was very good.  By the time we had our fill the rain let up and we sat out by the fire. Tuesday Diane took Karen along into town(Elkland)and drove around the lake showing her the eagles nests.   They headed out Wednesday just as we went back on duty, worked out great.  It is always good to see family!

Rudy always sits on Karen's lap!!

Three days of camp hosting went fast Diane did all the site cleaning and ticket posting while I did some mowing and vine pulling the first two days.  I would cut brush and vines stack them along the road for Diane to pick up later.  I would quit, go shower and have a beer while she kept working.  It was hard to convince her that it was fair.   Friday was a busy day it took both of us to clean fire pits and post tags.   The temperature is back on the rise and by 3 o'clock we were wore out.
The weekend was uneventful.  Hot close to 90 every day and humid.  We didn't go kayaking because it was to cold, then to many boats on the lake and now because it is to hot. Just waiting on some perfect temps they have to come soon. Diane did her shopping, laundry and general running around.  I mowed the volunteer sites and the surrounding area very slowly. We still have a fire most evenings just adjust how close we sit.  Yesterday (Monday)  I was going to scrub the tree debris off of the roof but it was just to hot.  By the time I swept it off I was sweating so much I could hardly see, so I quit and went into the A/C.  We spent the rest of the sitting around working on the computers with the A/C cranked.
