We are in no hurry to get on the road, we are only going 130 miles. After a quick breakfast Diane headed into town for wine and groceries while I packed up the RV. It is another cloudy/cool and
misty day. Poor Rudy is wandering what happened to summer. The temps held steady in the low 60's all day. Diane made it back and finished packing the inside stuff and we rolled out around 11:30. We are still traveling route 6 through the countryside. We had a hard time finding a lunch spot and ended up pulling into a closed butcher shop with a rough parking area(big dump factor getting in and out) but we made it. We arrived at Hasting RV Park around 4:00pm. It is a stretch to call this a camp ground. It looked good on the Web Site but the pool has been filled in, the lounge is locked and the office is never open. We called the emergency number and a guy living in a camper came up to check us in after explaining they don't have 50 amp and we could leave if we wanted to. It appears the place has been bought or taken over by farm/barn painters using several different company names from 4 different states but all living at the camp ground. Anyway, we stayed, hooked up and had burgers on the grill in the rain. It was fun anyway. For anyone who was wandering we average 40/50 mph traveling the side roads when you include the lunch/fuel stops.

Still cloudy and cool this morning with drizzle so we headed to the Goldenrod Family Restaurant for breakfast and it was a good find. They had some severe weather here on Friday so we drove around looking at the damage when we stumbled onto an antique mall(huge). The next two hours or so were kind of a blur. But when we came back to the truck it got full and we were broke. But we had so much fun. Then back to reality at the grocery store and home to Rudy. Still cool and rainy so grilled cheese and soup for dinner.

Woke up with sun shine filling the Moho to the point you couldn't sleep. We are so happy to see the sun as is all of the mid west folks. The farm fields are lying full of water and even the gutters along the road are still full of water. We had breakfast and slowly packed up the Moho. We pulled out around 10:30 heading for Nebraska City to visit Maddie for a day or two. I had to hunt for my sunglasses and hat, it been a while since we drove on a bright sunny day. Still traveling Route 6 and again we had a hard time finding a lunch stop. Finally at 1:30 we pulled into a mini mart, restaurant, truck stop, and liquor store combo. And yes it was small but had good pizza. We fueled up after lunch and went the last 60 mile to the Victorian RV Park. The park is nice but almost empty. They are right along route 2 which is closed at the Missouri River due to the flooding. The staff said the drive around for the closed bridge is almost 50 miles and the bridge is not expected to open until September so they will miss the entire camping season. We settled in, had stuffed mushrooms on the grill with a glass of wine(white). Yesterday we ran the heat and today it is 85ish and all three a/c's are running. Diane is not feeling well so she headed off to bed early, then Rudy and I cleaned up the entire Moho before bed.
