Hello again

Hello, I'm back and this time it has only been 2 days.....yea.

We did make it up for the ice cream social.  $2.00 for the ice cream and then all the fixin's for any Sundae you wanted to make.  We walked back to the RV then headed up to find out what 'Bunco' is.  It appears to be some sort of Dice game, and you roll as many '5s' as possible until the bell is rang (OK, I admit you need to watch it for it to make sense).  I hung out there for awhile then headed back home.

Monday, we did our bike ride then came back and tried to work on a couple of things at the RV.  Brad went to the office and scheduled us to stay for another month, then off to the RV shop to look for RV caulking to seal some gaps....no luck there. So we hopped on our bikes and rode to Wally World, still no luck, so he just used what he had and we'll have to deal with that later.  We just had lunch here at home and then got ready to head over to the Lucero's.  We are having a meat loaf dinner, which we offered to make since they were to be in Chicago this weekend, but ended up being grounded due to snow.   So we headed over there about 3:30 and got dinner started.  It was all ready about 6:30, just in time for Len to join us for dinner.  It was nice, I think that was the first time we have been able to visit with all of the Lucero's at one time.  We were there until about 8:00 then headed home, just in time to watch 'Bones'.

Today we get up to Tornado watches and severe storm watches.  The worst of it all was north of us, but everybody at the CG was put in their awnings, and putting things away, just in case.  We went out for breakfast and looked for a barber shop we saw an ad for.  But we couldn't find it, so instead we headed out to look at a CG Len told us about.  Nice place, but there really wasn't anybody out and about, so we didn't get to talk with anyone about how the park was.  So, back home, Brad napped and I looked up flights home.  I then went for a walk, lots of people out and about after being stuck inside all morning, back for lunch.  We walked up by the club house and the neighbors from in back of us and across the street from us were playing 'pickle ball'.  I call it 'tennis for old people'.  It is played on a small tennis court with a hard paddle and a wiffle ball.  So when they got back, Edwin (our one neighbor) invited Brad to come up Thursday and check it out.  This I will have to watch.

OK, I know I started out good, but here it is Thursday until I get around to hitting the publish key (I'm bad).

Camp Bird
Wednesday we did our bike ride and then back to camp.  Brad started working on putting the vent covers on the RV and I headed up to the club house for a volunteer meeting for activity day on Saturday.  It seems like that will be fun, I am helping with the scavenger hunt and the golf cart rodeo.  The activities start at 10:00 and end that night with a pot luck dinner and dance contest, then the band will play until about 10:00 PM.  I am back at the RV when Kathy (another neighbor) stopped over and invited me up to watch (learn) 'Pokeno', (they play more gambling games than anything here).  It looked like fun, so maybe next Wednesday I'll go play.  While there, Shari called and needed us to meet McKayden from school.  So over to her house, meet Mckayden and talked with Shari for the 10 minutes she was home.  She had Morgan running to do, so she is off and we head out right after that to pick up Maddie and Makari from track practice.  Back to the RV where jeans and jackets are in order, then over to Coyote Rojo for dinner.  We took the kids back home and hung out until about 8:30, then left them there and headed home.  Poor Shari won't be home until about 10:30.  So  back home, watched TV then off to bed.

It is about 8:30 Thursday morning and I'm going to check the activities for the day, I do know that Bingo is tonight and Pickle ball is some time today, maybe we'll be out and about keeping busy.

Later, Diane

Sunday...5 days again

Well here it is Sunday, another 5 days from our last posting.  So lets see if we can recap the week.  Tuesday we didn't do much, hung out at the CG, rode our bikes, and really didn't go anywhere.

Wednesday we just kind of hung out as well, but are planning on going to the O'Donnell's for Pizza and cake, to celebrate Morgan's Birthday, one of the many birthdays in a weeks time.  She turned 16, hard to believe as it seems like only yesterday we went to Colorado to see her when she was a baby.

Thursday we got up and headed up to the Villages.  We had received our coffee pot from Kohl's and even though it said it was only 11 inches high, it was actually 15 and needed to be returned.  So off to Kohl's, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond and finally at Target we found a coffee pot that will fit.....yea.  We got a few other things that we needed, then off to home.  I was so excited about the coffee pot,  after 3 1/2 weeks of putting up with one that didn't fit under the cabinets, I was happy to get this one home.  We had left over pizza for dinner and then I headed up to play bingo.  Brad just hung out and held down the fort.

Friday we got up, I cleaned and Brad putz'ed around out side.  We did our token 5 mile bike ride and then got cleaned up and headed over to Shari's to visit.  Nobody was home, so we just dropped of Makira's card (last of the week long birthday's) then headed out to find the bike shop in Floral city.  Brad needed to get his bike worked on and while we were there, he got a more comfortable seat.  We stopped at the Irish Pub in Floral City, had a few beers and met another couple, who actually ended up camping in the same grounds we are in, then came back, did a little ride before dark, had dinner and hung out.

Jam Session
Saturday we did our bike ride, had breakfast here at home, then headed up to the club house for lunch and the jam session.  Not a bad deal, burgers were OK and the music was fun to listen to.  I did have to send this picture to Thom (brother-in-law) and told him, I know what he'll be doing in about 30 years.  We then headed over to visit the Lucero's, just in time for the lunch time feeding of Chris P. Bacon (Len's pig) and then Shawna was off and running.  So, we headed out, had ice cream snack and went to the grocery store.  Headed back to camp, put the groceries away and decided on sandwiches for dinner....too hot and humid to cook, so an easy light dinner was just fine by us.

This morning we had breakfast in, but missed the bike ride due to rain.  We did laundry, and then I dumped the bag of owners manuals and stuff we received with the RV.  We left that lay headed out for lunch and stopped at Wally World for folders so we could organize all the papers.  We got back and Brad rested for a while (creamer was bad in his coffee and was doing funny things to his stomach).  I filed all the paper work and when Brad got up he went for a bike ride (too humid for me).  So now it's about 4:00 Sunday and we are planning on going up for the ice cream social at 6:00 and 'Bunco' at 7:00.  No we don't know what that is, but I guess we'll figure it out.  More to come.  Diane

Service Appointment Over and Done with

Hi, I'm back.  We were at the Turtle Back Resort until Monday the 11th.  Saturday we didn't do much and Sunday we did a little grocery shopping and then headed over to the O'Donnell's for dinner.  Back to camp to get ready for another move.
Picture of Sulfur Springs at
Wekiva Campground
Tuesday we have an appointment with La Mesa so Monday we headed back to Wekiva KOA.  It's only an hour ride, so no hurry in the AM, and we still managed to arrive by 12:30.  We get settled into our site and do some walking around the grounds.  We really can't get much out since we have to be at La Mesa at 8:00 AM....ugh.  We did a lot of strolling, checked out the pool area, the spring swim area and the club house.

Tiki Bar
About 5:00 we headed down to this little Tiki Bar situated at the end of the Spring.  Had a couple of beers, talked with the bar tender and the few other people that showed up, then headed back to camp about 6:00.  We sat outside until the no-see-um bugs ran us inside, but Brad still had to finish dinner on the grill.  We hung out then headed to bed, ready to get tomorrow over and done with.

Asleep by 8:00
We got up Tuesday showered and were out of the CG by 7:50.  We pulled into La Mesa about 8:10 and met with Chuck to go over some of the issues we were having.  Nothing major, but some things we wanted addressed.  We finally get out of there about 9:00 and head out for breakfast.  We did some shopping, crossing off a bunch of little things from our list....but still no coffee pot that fits.  They finally called about 3:00, they were finished, with one part ordered.....so we'll have to return.  We go back, get the RV and head back to camp.  Brad made dinner on the grill and then was enjoying the warranty stress being over and his sofa.  He finally woke up about 9:00 and went to bed.

We got up Wednesday....planning on leaving the CG, but no plans on where to go.  We did head to the Club house about 9:10, coffee and donuts complements of La Mesa....what they are all gone.  14 dozen donuts gone in about 10 minutes, disappointed we head back to the RV and get packed up to head out.  We made reservations at Blueberry Hill CG, which is right beside the Wal-Mart in Bushnell and pulled in about 1:00.  We got set up just before the rain hit, then we headed over to Shawna's to see if our mail showed up...none yet and then off to the grocery store.  We did a little shopping, but I want to head up to the Fresh Market for meats (much better), so not too much in the cart.  I left Brad off the hook a little, we went out of Valentines day Wednesday evening, since we figured Thursday you wouldn't be able to get into any of the few restaurants in the area, which worked out fine for us.  We got back to camp about 7:30 and just kind of relaxed for the rest of the night.

We got up this morning and I made breakfast and we have slowly been getting out the outside decorations and putting them up.  Now the rain is back and has chased us inside, so I guess I'll shower and get ready to go play bingo tonight.

Another Move

We moved again yesterday.  Check out was 11:00 AM, so we pulled out at 10:45.  Got the car all hooked up....still no lights, but we decided to play stupid and I finally got to ride in the RV, much more relaxing than the first ride and I would like to do it again!!  It wasn't a long ride, back to Sumterville area to a different campground this time,  the Turtle Back RV Resort, now a KOA, but they have cable which is a plus since our satellite and antenna still don't work.

Beautiful CG, Tight Spots
We got here about 12:30, stopped at the truck stop up the road and disconnected, then I headed over to check us in with Brad only about 5 min. behind me.  Can you say tight, close, sites.....this one fits the bill.  It is a small campground, nice looking, but you are right on top of your neighbor, but it is only for 3 nights, then off to La Mesa again.

Visitor to the Animal Farm
Today we went to Wally world, still looking for a coffee pot, no joy, but we did pick up a few other things we needed.  Stopped at the new pizza shop for a slice of pizza, then headed over for a visit at the Lucero household.  Ashley and Gabe were the only ones there, so we chit chatted for a moment and headed down to the barn.  We were looking to see what we left behind and what do we find...a new addition to the animal farm.  The story is that he was at the Vets for rehabilitation and is ready to be released, but Len has been busy and hasn't got the release done yet.  He said we could release him, but all the dogs were there and we didn't want to be responsible for his demise.

After that we stopped and got some chicken for dinner, stopped at the CG where I talked with the neighbor lady who had a mini Chihuahua.  He was soooo cute and full grown is between 3-5 pounds.  But expensive, I guess she was happy about the price she paid for him.  She did say that they had 2 or 3 left, but they are females, not males (go figure).  We then headed over to the O'Donnell's to pick up Makira and drop her off at a sleep over.  The back to the CG for dinner and an evening of relaxing.

I did forget to post this picture the other day.  Beside the Freight liner shop, was a pilot gas station, and on one of our many stops there, this guy pulled in for gas.  And no, I was not the only person taking pictures.  Gotta love it.   Later, Diane and Brad

I would guess Home Made

At it again

We got up Monday and the phone calls started again.  Brad called the Freight liner Company in Ocala and we scheduled an appointment for Tuesday at one.  We wanted them to give it a look over and let us know what kind of work needed done.  So Monday we packed up, took our ladder back to the Lucero's, grocery shopped, did laundry, and anything else that was required before we moved.

Our parking Pad
Tuesday we get up, and prepare for the move.  We ended up getting to the garage about 11:30, about an hour early, so we are hoping to get it in early and get it back at a decent time.  Off we go, we had lunch, did some shopping (coffee pots and things) and then started shopping for a campground.  After reading the reviews we headed to one....no way, tight spaces and very few left.  We stopped at another, and another and another.  Finally, the first one we passed we pulled in...oh my, what a beautiful camp ground, 3 sections, 1. Class A only, 2. Month or longer stays 3. Transient area.  Back to the office make reservations and then off to get the motor home.  No joy, they hadn't even got it in by now (4:00 pm), but they'll be there until 11:00 PM.  Sorry, we took the motor home back to the CG and have to have it back at the garage at 9:00 AM.  So early night and early morning for us, pulling out about 8:15.  It is only about a 15-20 min. ride to the garage, but no need to wait until the last minute.

View from Site to the
Club House
So we drop it off, go for breakfast, returned the coffee pot since it didn't fit on the counter, did more shopping and killed a lot of time.  We finally get it back about 4:30, not much needed done, one more recall, but they didn't have the parts and back to the campground, sad for us, nice campground and we're not even here to enjoy it.  We have a quick dinner and both of us are off to sleep early, how can waiting for the RV to get out of the garage be stressful and exhausting.

Brad working on Hitch plug
Well here it is Thursday and we get to enjoy ourselves.  We walked up to the restaurant for breakfast, then walked out to the river area for a little break.  We sat on a bench watching a couple of boats go by and a few more launch, then headed back home.  Brad worked on the hot water heater, the drain plug dripped, and then he worked on the hitch plug as we had no brake lights or turn signals on the car.  We just kind of putzed around the RV, I dumped all the junk containers, stowing things or tossing junk away.  All in all, it's starting to fall into place.  The neighbor was over to talk for a while, and then the rain started.  Not bad at first, but now it's raining pretty hard, but it was a relaxing, peaceful day.  But we are off and running again tomorrow.

Some more stress

Thursday afternoon we left the campground and headed back to the Lucero household.  We have a lot of the out side storage things in their garage and some more organization that needs done.....ugh.  We get there about 1:00, a uneventful ride, but stressful none the less.  A new rig, not sure how a diesel should handle, smell, ride, etc, but we made it and I'm a nervous wreck.  (I know the last one didn't make me this nervous).

No more busting your head
on doors that only open
half way!
We are finally parked (2 feet in an RV makes a difference parking), jacks down and the slides out, it's 2:00 and I'm ready to put my feet up and have a beer......no can do.  We don't do much, kind of putz around the RV, checking things out and trying to understand how they work.  We have a heat pump, inverter and it is all new to us, so much to learn (maybe we should have stuck with a gas coach).
Paradise Oaks

We stayed at the Lucero's Friday night until Saturday and worked at packing all over again.  Brad got to do the out side, which was a little easier, as most of it was in the garage and only now needed to be organized, but I tore out a lot of the inside and redid most it.  But there is still a lot of final places that need to be decided.  Our problem is we lost a lot of our junk storage locations, now the junk has to go and everything needs a place.  I still have about 3 small containers to sort, but we are getting there.  There are about 10 pillows on the bed and some other things we are going to pack up and send home for storage, that will help clean up some of the stuff, but some of the things we just need to get rid of or find a home for.

Too many pillows

Kitchen Storage

We are now at the Paradise Oaks RV Park in Bushnell.  We got here Saturday about 2:00, got set up and I headed over to the grocery store (next door).  I got back, put the groceries away (nice frig) worked on sorting through things again and then had grilled chicken breasts on a salad for me and Brad had a chicken wrap.  Not bad.

We got up Sunday and were trying to decide what to have for breakfast, when Shari texted, her, Matt and the kids will be there about 10:00.  So we got cleaned up, had breakfast and just started to try to organize again.  They came and visited and when they left we headed over to 'Howeys' for lunch.  We got back and I got ready to go play bingo...need a break.  It was nice, I didn't win anything, but it killed about 2.5 hours with different thoughts and I met some nice people.   One of the things we can't get working it the TV....no Satellite and no antenna, so we joined the world of Red Box users....yea.

Lots to organize yet

We missed the super bowl and are watching our second movie of the night (this can get old), but back at it tomorrow..phone calls to make, scheduling different things that need done and getting done with the warranty worry.
