Our New Home!!

Monday13February 2023

Our new (to us) Moho.

Things are coming together; I'm still trying to find space underneath for my stuff, but Diane has made great progress. We noticed the ice maker doesn't work and I started looking into that. Watched a lot of U-tube videos and I hate to say it, but it looks easy enough to replace. Time will tell.  And Diane is having trouble with the wash machine sometimes it starts right up and sometimes she has to turn it on and off push all the buttons twice. Sometimes she wins and sometimes the washer wins.๐Ÿ˜ž

Tuesday 14 February 2023 (Happy Valentine Day)

I got up found the card I had for Diane and placed by her coffee cup. She got up later read her card and explained she had a card for me but somehow lost it while packing/unpacking. Yea right that never worked for me. We were down to just a few things in the trailer that I wanted to clean it out and so I could return it to Len. And you won't believe it, but as I was sorting through the last box or two, I found the Valentines Day card. So, she is off the hook, this time.
I checked the credit union and the old RV loan is still not paid off.  I called the RV dealer and they had not sent the payment๐Ÿ˜ก but assured me it would go today and even sent me a picture of the Fed Ex label. The label wasn't attached to any envelope yet, but it was printed.
But they couldn't ruin Valentines Day.  We opened a nice bottle of wine and enjoyed our steak and shrimp diner while admiring the progress we have made.

Wednesday 15 February 2023

At least the weather has been great while we are carrying, sorting, and rearranging the Moho. Some days we didn't even shut the screen door during the day. Diane has even started redoing cupboards already and even ordered a shelf for beside the bed. I crammed the last items in the underneath bins.  I had two tubs of stuff in the bed of the truck. I got them out to sort, turns out all the stuff in them I need.  They will just have to ride in the truck until I home and sort out all the bins. We finally took an afternoon and went for a nice bike ride/walk. I felt so good I added an extra half mile to my ride.

Thursday 16 February 2023

The Moho is really starting to feel like home.๐Ÿ˜Š  We have been working on getting the place ready to go. I have been checking on a braking system for the Moho since the old one worked with the air brakes on the old coach.  I called our hitch installer to make an appointment and their next available time slot is the third week of March. We will be long gone by them.  So now checking out some other options.
Back to the RV dealer and the old loan. Sure enough, they sent the check and the credit union received it this afternoon, but the title paperwork wasn't signed so they can't pay off my loan. This is 8 days after we settled. I was quite irritated and called the RV dealer and expressed my "disappointment".  They reassured me they were working hard and the paper work person is new.

Friday 17 February 2023

Diane has finally got the wash machine under control (for now) and we are back pretty much to the regular routines. Now, every time you want something you have to think hard look around to see what cupboard it may be in.
We received an email from credit union stating our insurance has been dropped on the old Moho. Yes it was because we don't have it anymore. But since the loan isn't paid off they are going to take out insurance at our expense.  This is really starting to snowball out of control. Eight days now since settlement. I called the RV dealer, AGAIN.  The owner called back said they fired the title person and the previous title specialist was working on it and faxed everything to the credit union.
To work off some frustration we went for a ride.

Saturday 18 February 2023 (Happy Birthday to Shawna Kay)

This would have been Shawna's 51st birthday. We went over to Nobleton to the New Riverside

Restaurant.  The food was ok, I had the shrimp diner and Diane had chicken cheese steak sandwich. But the restaurant is close to the cemetery. After visiting the cemetery and being all sad we drove down to check out a state campground at Silver Lake.  It was nice and a large lake to kayak on but as with most state parks non sewer.  We stopped and watched a turtle as she was crawling out of her nest.  It was a really nice day, temperatures in the mid 80's.

A friend of ours 'Brad' came over to see if he could help/fix the ice maker.  He tried several different things, but nothing worked.

Sunday 19 February 2023

Other than having to store the two boxes of stuff we are selling in the truck every night and getting them out every day we are done.  Trailer returned to Len. We do like the windows in this unit they are bigger and let a lot more light in.  We do have a doorbell that I like, Diane not so much. When I'm out grilling, I ring the doorbell for her to bring me stuff. Some reason she says it is irritating.  Diane
Nasty, Nasty

received her shelves yesterday and returned them today just didn't think they will hold up to the traveling.  I gave up on fixing the ice maker and removed the whole unit.  It actually wasn't that tough. Once I got it out, I'm glad I did it the ice mold itself is covered with some kind of flakey scale.

 Monday 20 February

As soon as 8:00 am rolled by I was on the phone to windle down the list of things to do.  First (after getting Diane coffee) was to order ice maker.  I called and they are in central time zone and not open.  As soon as 9:00am rolled by I called the credit union closed for presidents day.  It is now 11 days since settlement and the old loan is still not paid off.  I see how this day will go. After some more coffee I called and believe it or not I managed to get the ice maker ordered, batting 50% now.
Next, I headed over to Len's to do a little work. First, I forgot to drop of Diane's prescription so back into town, then back to Len's.  As soon I got out I realized I forgot my chain saw, gloves, nippers and water. I knew the day would go like this.  Went into the barn and Len was out of chain saw oil. I managed to work a couple of hours and headed home around. 3:00pm.
Back to the Moho ribs on the grill with a small glass of wine.๐Ÿ˜

New (to us) Moho

 Wednesday 1 February 2023

I went over to Len's and worked on clearing brush and sawing down several trees.  Len has the biggest chain saw they make (I think), and it is very heavy. It felt good to use the saw and sweat a little. Back to the Moho, salad for diner can't wait until Diane gets home.
The neighbors made another trip to look at a Moho. They liked this one and will probably get it. I called the dealer buying ours letting him know we were ready to sell. Diane was watching Chase most of the day because day care was closed, a lot of the teachers were sick. Salad for dinner again.

Thursday 2 February 2023

Randy called to say they were definitely getting this one and that they had made a down payment.  I went down took one final look at Randy and Vikki's and made a deal with them. The coach is a 2013 Newmar 3634 with 30,000 miles.  It is 5 feet shorter in length and 4 feet shorter wheelbase. Just about what we are looking for. I called Diane to let her know. Now all we have to do is figure out the logistics. We pretty much need to do the swap all in one day. Meantime Diane is just staying up north enjoying Chase, had lunch with Bev and enjoyed friends without concern for me sweating the load down here. Hot dogs for dinner.

Friday 3 February 2023

I called the RV dealer to make the arrangements for closing and to see if they can do a title swap for us buying the Newmar.  They dropped the price by $5,000, said the first numbers he gave me was just an estimate, but we are ready to do this, so we accepted it.  By then it was time to head to Sanford and pick up Diane, finally, returning from PA.  It was a long day, after the phone call with the dealer I was stressed.  I left early enough to stop and get packing boxes at U-Haul, then just as I pulled into the cell phone, I get a text her plane was late arriving. Oh yea.

Saturday 4 February 2023

The stress just keeps going up every day.  Talked with Randy and Vikki and we decided we would rent a U-Haul trailer to put all our stuff in and they were just going to put their stuff in their screened in room. I call Len to ask him something and he suggested that we just borrow his trailer and save the money.  I forgot he had one. We packed most of my items from under the Moho into the bed of the truck, I didn't realize now much stuff I accumulated over the past 4 1/2 years. We did have a guest who was passing through the campground, campers up and down our road made sure he made it out the other side.

Sunday 5 February 2023

We were going to wait until Tuesday to get the U-Haul trailer but now we decided to get Len's today.  That was one of the best decisions we made, as it turned out. I picked up the trailer and parked it beside the Moho. First thing was to unload some of the stuff out of the truck bed and into the trailer. The rest of day was just a blur of boxing up and carrying to the trailer. A glass of wine as we watched the sunset.

Monday 6 February 2023

Made the final arrangements with the RV dealer for Thursday morning at 10:00AM to swap titles, etc. That gave us 2 1/2 days to finish moving everything into the trailer.  With each passing hour our stress levels went up and our nerves were getting shot.  By afternoon we had to take a break and went for a bike ride and walk followed by an early happy hour.

Tuesday 7 February 2023

Pack, pack and pack. Everywhere we look and every door we opened was full.  Some of it we had forgotten we had.  Diane did make time to get her pedicure, even with all that was going on. Rudy and I
It's packed!

went for a walk up to the food truck (BBQ) to check it out.  We stood in line for hour and half until our food was ready. We barely walked in door and Diane was home. The BBQ was great, and we didn't have to cook.

Wednesday 8 February 2023

I had to unpack a fry pan so we could eat breakfast, And then back at it. By the end of today we had to be done. Feeling the pressure and knowing Diane's mornings, I called the RV dealer and pushed the settlement time back to 11:00. We made frozen wings from the grocery store, so we didn't need any dishes or pans. Almost done our last night in the old Moho๐Ÿ˜”she treated us well for four and half years.

Thursday 9 February 2023

Joining us for lunch
at Burger King!

Well, this is the big day.  Up at 6am without an alarm, nervous/excited couldn't sleep past about 4am.  We threw everything left bedding, towels, coffee pot into the trailer. Packed the refrigerator and freezer contents into the cooler and insulated shopping bags, waiting for Randy to call saying their refrigerator was ready for our food. It took forever to drive to the dealership arriving at 11:30 then waited. Signed a few papers and the guy says were all done and off we went. First order of business was lunch.  While having lunch at Burger King we realized we received no bill of sale or temporary registration or any paperwork at all.  Diane went in to order and I called about the paperwork, and they just said they could mail it to us.  It did not give me a warm fuzzy feeling.  While at BK we noticed a peacock walking and yelling around back, they sure are pretty.  We got back to the new to us Moho about 3pm. We walked in, looked around and started carrying in boxes and unpacking. Boxes all over the place and we couldn't find anything, Diane did find and unpacked the bread, so it was sausages for diner.  The place was still a mess at bedtime.

Friday 10 February 2023

Started early carrying in box after box trying to fit a house full of belongings into a one-bedroom apartment.  It just WILL NOT fit. Boxes all throughout the Moho, nerves were shot, tempers were getting short, and buyer's remorse was hitting hard.  So, midafternoon to ease the stress we quit I went for a bike ride and Diane went for a long hard walk.  That helped a little. We settled in a bit and were feeling better about the Moho.  End of our first full day in the Newmar.

Saturday 11 February 2023

Yogurt for breakfast, we only unpacked one box today. We spent the rest of day sorting things we already had sitting around the camper.  And that was a lot. Diane has changed the kitchen cupboards about 2 or 3 times already.  Knowing we had to move everything into the new Moho we've been eating all the food we had so we didn't have to carry it over.  Today Diane went to the grocery store to replenish the pantry and refrigerator. The bill was over $250 wow that hurt but at least we can eat again. I was checking the bank account and noticed the old RV loan was not paid off.  So, the panic set in a bit first they lowered their offer next we didn't get any temporary registration and now the old loan wasn't paid off.  I called the guy right away and he said not to worry. Easy for him to say.  We are going back over Monday to iron it all out. Felt much better about the trade.

Sunday 12 February 2023

Day three. We both slept much better last night and ready to finish loading up the Moho.  I brought
The last of the boxes, but the
mess is slowly getting
put away.

the last 4 boxes in this morning right after breakfast. By midafternoon we were well on the way to being done at last, at least for the start (Diane did a lot of creative packing).  We do have a pile of trash, a pile for donations and a pile I hope to put out for a yard sale. And I almost forgot we made a couple of boxes to go to the storage unit as soon as we get to Dillsburg. Looks like an early happy hour and burgers for dinner.

Diane goes home

24 thru 26 January 2023

Not a lot going on this week.  We have talking to our neighbors about buying their coach if and when they find one they like. On Thursday we had the Moho washed and waxed by professionals wasn't cheap but was easy. Diane has been busy planning, packing and preparing for her trip home to visit Chase and other family members.  Thursday afternoon we went to visit Paul and Marlene, friends of ours from Canada, shared some wine and cheese while catching up on what everyone was doing. Back to the Moho left overs for dinner.

Friday 27 January 2023

I took some left-over deer loin over to Len's and Rudy went along to get his check up and shots. He didn't know what was happening he got to ride over sniffing the loin but was surly disappointed when he didn't get any. And he was extremely disappointed when I put him up on the cold hard steel examination table. But he was a trooper, he got all his shot and didn't even try to bite Len this time. I have been trying to fix some of the overhead lights with new LED and finally got them working today.

Saturday 28 January 2023

After trying several times to schedule another dinner with Len we finally got together today.  Of course, we went over early and I helped him replace the flooring in Gabe's old room. Diane made a Keto friendly baked chicken meal.  Len has lost like over 20 pounds this year. We had a great time visiting and working with him.  Back to the Moho. Diane continues to pack, measuring her one and only allowed carry-on bag. I can't believe her ticket includes nothing.  The neighbors called to say they were going to look at another Moho on Sunday.

Sunday 29 January 2023

We spent most of the day cleaning up the Moho for a potential buyer but turns out they weren't all that
A nice evening.

interested.  But the Moho is all cleaned up now and looks great. The neighbors called to say the Moho they looked at was a no go.  Back to the holding pattern. Once the potential buyers left, happy hour started a little early.  Followed by grilled steaks and a veggie. Anxiety is already building for the drive to the airport and the Diane's flight to PA.  Wine was good.

Monday 30 January 2023

Kind of a crazy day.  We woke up to an incoming text at 5:30am.  We both got up, she checked the phone only to find out that her 5pm flight was delayed.  You got to be kidding a text a 5:30am. We tried to go back to sleep. Finally got up had a nice breakfast, cleaned up, she finished packing for the trip and it wasn't even lunch time. The airline texted flight was back on time, then delayed and then back on time. Our nerves were shot so we had lunch, packed her up and headed to the airport. I dropped her off at 3pm and left. As soon as she got to her gate they posted a delay until 7pm. The poor thing had 4 hours to kill. ๐Ÿ˜• I came back to the Moho Diane texted she finally got on the plane at almost 7pm.  Didn't get to Lynne's until 10:30 what a long day.

Tuesday 31 January 2023

A long the trail!

First day alone! Not much fun, yogurt for breakfast, ham sandwich for lunch and salad for dinner. yuck!  I managed to go for a bike ride even as the temperatures rose into the mid 80's. And Diane called temps in PA only 35 degrees, so I won't complain about the heat. I came back, cleaned up the Moho, did dishes etc. Can't wait until Diane gets back.
