Boring, Rainy, Cold 6 days

 Sunday 25 October 2020

As the title implies today was rainy.  Laundry, cleaning and just yucky.   Diane made chicken in the oven just to help warm up the camper.  As everyone with a camper knows it is hard to warm them up on days like this.

Monday 26 October 2020

Still cold and cloudy.  Diane cooked breakfast 'inside' once again to ugly to cook outside.  She did manage to steam up the front window pretty good so we dug out our small heater/fan and put it up by the windshield, cleared it right up.  We worked on sorting and organizing our newly started coin collection.  After several hour of 'can you read this date' and 'is that a mint mark' we had to give it up.  A quick trip to butcher shop and for excitement we had wings from the VFW.

Tuesday 27 October 2020

What an exciting day we had today.  First thing this morning it was laundry and grocery store.  Then we kicked it up a notch.  Lunch at Bone Fish, over to Sportsman Warehouse, then JC Penny mostly to walk the mall and lastly not to be out done by the mall was a stop at the wine store.  Back to the Moho ordered me a new hunting coat before warming up the camper cooking sausage and fried potatoes.  Diane is on a roll cooking inside. Next she will want to head south to warmer weather.

Wednesday 28 October 2020

Today was so boring we can't remember doing anything.  We diligently studied dental plans for the up coming open season, after several hours and a couple of calls to the "HELP" line we just gave up.  Next was a trip to the storage unit.  Diane dropped me off and picked up a chicken cheese steak from Al's.   We ate using the tailgate for our table.  We do know how to live it up.  After a couple of hours trying to reorganize it to make more room we gave up stuffed everything back in and went home.  Diane couldn't take cooking inside again so I bundled up and made burgers on the grill.

Thursday 29 October 2020

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse it did.  Today was a all day cold windy rainy miserable day.  Rudy didn't go out until after lunch and then he took one step peed and came back in.

More food then
one person needs!!

We played computer games, eventually switched to Mexican Train and that was fun.  The rain and wind continued all day.  We meet Shane and Morgan at El Rodeo restaurant for diner.  The food was great but for some unknown reason I ordered the Grande diner and Shane ordered the Special diner.  When they brought the food out we all laughed.  The plates were absolutely huge.  Mexican food doesn't reheat very well so I gave it my best shop to eat it all,  Shane succeeded but I failed.  The food was great and we sat and talk for quite a while.  It is always good to see them and we enjoyed the time together.  Back to the Moho Diane had a glass of wine I had a hand full of tums and laid on the sofa moaning. When I get older I'll learn not to eat so much.

  Friday 30 October 2020

Woke up several times last night to the sound of hard rain on the Moho, when will this end.  The answer is today we hope.  Rudy HAD to go this morning he did not hesitate when I opened the door.  There was still a heavy mist, windy and cold but when gotta go you gotta go.  Temperature was 43 degrees and with the wind, Diane had to cook inside again this morning.  She is off to spend some much needed sister time with Lynne. I started packing up the camper and cleaning up from a week of rain and muck.  Tonight is diner with Lynne and Rick always a good time.  Tomorrow we start a new adventure of looking a new(different) Moho.  We will be headed to Clarksville Va. to look at a  2011 Newmar Dutch Star.  It is 5 feet shorter than this one and we will be giving up a lot of storage space and our half bath.  More info on next blog post.

Heading to Dillsburg

 19 October thru 22 October 2020

A cloudy day in Tioga County!
Well, these days went by fast despite the fact it started to rain/drizzle Monday morning and continued until Wednesday evening. Eye appointments for the both of us and Diane had a dentist appointment. Thursday we headed down to Dillsburg for some family time. Diane headed to the dentist at 8:30 and I headed to the garage for inspection and service at 8:45. First a quick (or so I thought) stop at tractor supply for propane. The guy comes out, pumps the propane, I move the Moho and go inside to pay. Well if it isn't 'little miss happy as can be' gal at the register. I'm third in line and she is just a chit chatting away with one and all, this my friend is when a mask came in handy hid my facial expressions. Back on the road pulled and into the garage at 10:45 just 15 minutes late but the man was waiting on me. Rudy and I got out and the Moho went into the shop, I thought this was good. Diane pulled in around 11:30 and we went out to get some lunch. We hurried back from lunch at 1:30 thinking the Moho would be done. Apparently the mechanics also get a lunch break. We walked around the parking lot like a hundred times, sat in the truck, walked, sat etc. About 3pm I went to check things out, the mechanics are now on break. At 4 Diane left for Dillsburg to check in and get our site and believe it or not Rudy and I were rolling down the road by 4:30. We pulled in and parked by 6:30, set up and burgers on the grill by 7:30. What a lonnngggg day.

23 October 2020

First day in Dillsburg and as normal it started with breakfast cooked on the grill, then off to the storage unit to pack more stuff away and guess what it just wouldn't all fit.  Diane ordered two storage containers and one was damaged so they shipped us two more(2+2=4) now we have 4 containers to put into a already full storage unit.  Back to the Moho lots of laundry after 4 days of no water.  We cleaned and straightened up a light lunch and off to Lynne and Rick's for dinner and mail.  We had a great time crab cakes and fixin's for dinner.  Rudy and Cody enjoyed each other with a couple of big runs around the yard Rudy doesn't get a lot of off leash time.   Diane kept me out late is was well after 9 until we made it home.

24 October 2020

What a Surprise

More work around the camper.  Diane did laundry and went to the grocery store.  I spent hours trying to get the satellite to come in.  We did finally get it working.  Before we new it is was time to head over to Beverly's 70th birthday party.  It was nice Dan had a big tent set up with sides and everything including a heater.  Bev was really surprised and excited.  The food was good the company great and once again Diane had me out way past dark.

Good-bye Ives Run, 'til the next time

 October 12 thru Oct 18 2020

Rudy enjoying
the sunshine!!

Well our time at Ives Run is over.  Boy that went by fast.  Nothing real exciting going on.  I've been hunting and Diane has been taking fall foliage pictures and cooking her little heart out.  Hunting has been less than exciting I've only seen a few deer but did get a book read.  I didn't hunt every day and we had a couple breakfasts cooked outside and even a morning fire a couple of days.  We visited with Jen and Greg a couple of days.  Their stay here was extended a few days because Molly(their dog) was not doing well. The weather has been great for the most part.  Nice sunny fall days with temps in the 60's.  We had one day of rain but it wasn't heavy and didn't last long.  We did have one morning temps dipped down to 29 degrees.  Several of our neighbors had frozen water lines but we did not.

Saturday night Jen and Greg came down for our farewell dinner.  Just sausages on the grill with broccoli salad and Greg made homemade mac and cheese(yum).  We sat by the fire and chatted until the wee hours of the morning (8:30pm) .  Jen had to take Molly up once  it got dark, the poor dog just doesn't do well outside after dark. That was about it we went up for hugs and handshakes Sunday morning just before they pulled out.  We finished packing up our stuff and hit road at 2:50pm (check out is 3pm).  We did the 6 mile trip down to Cole's without stopping.

We got set up at Cole's by 4:30.  We will be here until Thursday when we head to Dillsburg for a week or so.  Need to get the Moho inspected and serviced on the way down.  The leaves are gone now just a few hillsides with any color at all left most are bear.  And we all know what is next, cold and snow.  Time to head south.

Even on the ground
they are beautiful!!

Our first week at Ives Run

 Friday October 2 2020

An uneventful drive to Tioga county stopped for propane and pulled into Cole's at 4:30.  When we left Dillsburg Diane went to Karn's for the pink shrimp and chicken quarters that were on sale.  They had neither.  She caught up to Rudy and I along the river so we stopped and hooked up the truck.

Saturday October 3 2020

Just a day of relaxation before moving to Ives Run tomorrow.

Beautiful Sunset!!

Sunday October 4 thru Sunday October 11 2020

Our first week at Ives Run is over.  We haven't done much but have been busy the whole time.  The leaves are at peak and the weather has been great.  I have been hunting a few times seeing some doe but no buck.  We took a ride over to see Kate before she heads back down to Florida.  Another ride to check out Ben's cabin and of course with each trip was lunch some where.  A ride into Wellsboro for drugs, hair cut, wine, groceries and of course lunch.  Each trip was an event in it's self.  The foliage was beautiful and most times we took the long way home.  A couple of nights we just had hot dogs over the fire and one morning I started a fire for Diane(she been wanting a morning fire) and we ate outside.

Jen and Greg are working here but we have had some nice visits.  Greg cooked us steaks on the grill, potatoes and green beans.  We all sat around the camp fire enjoyed a few bottles of wine before we headed down.  Rudy enjoys the visit as well he gets some much needed off leash time.

The one restaurant we stopped at was the old Bear Track and is now Shiffity's.  We had wings, not bad. but as we left we noticed their sign and thought it needed mentioning.

Hopefully next post we will have some deer pictures or at least some good stories.

As I was finishing up my walk
Brad picked me up,
a rain storm was chasing me back to camp,
but a nice rainbow!!

Busy time in Dillsburg!!

 Thursday 24 September 2020

We arrived in Dillsburg around 3:30pm.  We are here for Tony's service on Friday and Burial on Saturday.  Services were in Millersburg a good hours drive each way.  Kate seemed to be doing as well as could be expected.  What a sad time.  I'll skip ahead until Monday.

 Monday 28 September 2020

We have been to the storage unit putting purchases in and getting hunting stuff out.  Each year more
Going into
Storage!!
stuff goes in than comes out.  So beware if you are a close friend or relative, we will soon need more storage space.  Dinner with Mel and Perry at the Greystone food was good as usual.  The wind picked up a lot so we had to eat inside. We talked for a bit after dinner catching up on their camping trips.

Tuesday 29 September 2020

Cloudy with on and off drizzle all day.  The truck went in for oil change and inspection in Lemoyne  so we spent the day walking around the farmers market and plaza.  Stopped for lunch at The West Shore Family Restaurant, the food was good, Diane had a fish sandwich and meatloaf with fixing for me.  We hit every store in the plaza and the only thing worth  buying was a couple bottles of wine.  Picked up the truck back to the Moho picked up Rudy and headed over to Morgan and Shane's for dinner.  He smoked three different flavors of chicken and asparagus.  It was wonderful we talked for awhile checking out several ideas they have for remolding the house.  It was almost 9:00 until we got home, a glass of wine and we were done.

Wednesday 30 September 2020

It rained on and off all night but a don't think we had much for as dry as it is.  But the cool weather
Odd bug we found
on the tree beside us!

arrived as predicted.  Low 50's when I got up this morning and only to reach 65 or so.  The walnuts are dropping from the trees along with a few leaves,  you know what is coming.....cold weather....winter. We are looking for somewhere south to go before the snow starts to fly.  Breakfast on the grill and making plans to head north on Friday.  Diane went to the butcher shop.  Then trips for me to Ben's, the storage unit for the last of the hunting supplies and hopefully to visit Norman's.

Thursday 1 October 2020

A quick breakfast a little packing and it was time to pick up Bev for lunch at Gilligan's.  Food was great I had the lunch crab cake Bev and Diane had the lunch prime rib and no one complained.  We decided to skip the museum we had planned because Rudy would have to spend to much time alone!
Rudy  using a leaf
to cover his eyes!!
We did stop at Paulus's farm market before dropping Bev off and heading home.  A nice walk for Rudy then packing for the trip up north tomorrow.  The temps have dropped and the wind picked up a bit.  Then we were off to Lynn and Rick's to pick up mail and packages( there was a lot) before hitting the Pizza Grille for dinner.  Always a good time catching up with the Shirks.   It must have been almost a year since we been there. Pizza was great. Again it was almost nine went got home.
