Getting Better

Well it is Saturday, so I am getting better, at least it's not a full week since my last posting.

Old Lock/Door Handle Parts
Wednesday, March 27 we got up and slowly got ready to head over to Sanford, FL. , for our appointment at La Mesa.  I did forget to tell you all, around 2:00 on Tuesday we ordered the parts we need to fix the door, which ended up arriving Wednesday at the CG we were heading to, before we did.  So we get there, get our box of parts, find our site and get all set up.  We start looking at the box of parts, not too bad and in about 30 min. we have the old lock and handle off and the new one installed and working, yea.  We changed out the keys on all the key rings and threw all the old stuff away, feeling pretty good about the whole ordeal.  We had left overs for pizza, watched some TV and off to bed about 10:30.

WIT Membership
Thursday we get up about 6:00, and get ready to head to La Mesa.  We dropped off the  MH about 8:15 then headed out for breakfast.  We did a little shopping, then back to La Mesa for the (free) lunch they offer.  We pull in and there sits our MH, but we go eat, then back out to the service department.  They are already finished, exhaust and ice maker fixed, so we then head over to Shari's.  We pulled in about 4:30, visited for a minute and then they were all off and running.  We got set up and about the time we were finished they were back.  We had chicken chili for dinner (pretty good), then Shari and Morgan were off again.  Brad and I headed out the the MH, watched 'Wreck it Ralph' and then off to bed by 10:30.

Another Homemade
Camper
Friday I really messed with Brad's head and was up by 6:30, got him coffee and took it into him (he is normally up first).  Shari was at work already, Matt was at work in his office and all 5 kids are home, no school.  They have a house showing tomorrow, so it is cleaning day for the kids.  Pappy and I had our normal cereal and Yogurt for breakfast and were just kind of putzing around.  Brad was working on some things out side, I texted and wished Kaydence a Happy Birthday and did some cleaning inside.   Now for the fun part, I turned on the radio inside and headed out to open that radio and turn it on.....oh no.....the old keys that we threw away opened the radio/entertainment center.  It also opened up the gas tank and all the storage bins.  So we called Winnebago but they were closed for Good Friday, then called Camping world and left a message.  Oh, something to worry about come Monday.  After that I opened my big mouth and offered to make dinner for the 9 of us.  OK quick shower and off to the grocery store, baked spaghetti, salad and garlic bread for dinner.  I worked on dinner and helped the kids clean, they actually did a pretty good job.  We had dinner, hung out until about 8:00 then Brad and I came out to the MH and watched 'The Five People You Meet in Heaven', then off to bed about 11:00.

cleaning

Today is Saturday and the showing is somewhere between 9:00 and 12:00.  The O'Donnell's left about 9:30, while Brad and I hung out in the MH.  The people looking at the house finally arrived about 10:30, but only the realtor got out of the car.  They all just got back in their respective cars and left....no house tour, what a bummer.  When the O'Donnell's got back, we visited with them for awhile but now Matthew, McKayden, Pappy and I are in the MH watching 'Wreck it Ralph'.  Pretty nice company for the kids movies.  Well tomorrow is Easter and the Lucero's are coming over for dinner.  We will be pulling out about 5:00 to head over to a CG to spend the night so we can dump our tanks before heading to Camping World Monday.   I'll keep you posted on how things go.

Happy Easter Everyone,
Diane and Brad

Shame on Me

Here it is one week since my last post......shame on me.

Wednesday, 3/20 I finished going through the 4 boxes received in the mail, kept 2 and returned 2, not bad I guess.  I did go to the Club House to play Pokeno, and did pretty good at winning.  Back home, a quick stop at the Lucero's and O'Donnell's, only to find nobody home, so back to the RV for dinner.

Thursday I got up and started going through the cupboards and refrig., working on a grocery list to replenish supplies after being gone for a week.  I dropped Brad off a Shari's, went grocery shopping then back to Shari's to pick up Brad and the potato chips I had shipped to myself (OK I shared), then back home to put it all away.  A quick dinner at home then off to play bingo, not a bad night I managed to win one game.

Morgan and McKayden
Friday we went out for breakfast, then hit the hardware store for a washer.  Back to the RV and fixed the flag, which had sunk 6 inches into the ground.  I did some cleaning, called the Lucero's to make dinner plans, then more cleaning.  We finally get ready for dinner, planned for 7:00, get to the restaurant, and a phone call, work is interfering, so delayed for about 1/2 hour.  We finally all get there, wait for a table, but ended up having a nice evening together.

Maddie, Matthew and
Makira
Saturday we get up to a rainy day...yuk.  But we finally head out about 9:00 to watch the O'Donnell clan at the Soccer fields.  We missed Matthew playing, but did get to see McKayden, Madison and Makira play, Matt and Shari coaching and Morgan refereeing, now that is what you call a family affair.  We headed back to the RV to wait on the RV washers, since Brad is hurt we were paying to have it done....but never again, I think he could have done a better job hurt.  So while the RV was being washed we headed over to visit with Denny and Jan Kizer (friends of Brad's from the Navy (a few years ago, ha ha)).  We were there until about 6:00 then headed back to the RV, when much to our surprise, the door will not work....so now what.  I guess we were lucky, after the RV washing I opened a few of the windows, so with the neighbors ladder, in through the window I go.  We checked things out, but it is all but dark, so waiting for morning.

Coach Shari at the far
end of the field

Sunday we get up to some wind and a rainy day forecast.  Brad checked out the door lock, couldn't find anything broken, so quit as the rain was arriving.  We hung out inside, since you can't back in if you go out, and then when the storm passed, Brad and Denny worked on the door again.  They couldn't find anything broken, so the next thing is to call the repair man.  We ended up hanging out with the Kizer's again and never came home for dinner until 8:00.  Cooked a couple of sausages, a quick call to Lynne, then off to bed about 10:30.

Monday I got up and headed off to the Webster Flea/Farm Market with Dee, leaving Brad to deal with the door.  We had a nice time, had a large sticky bun for brunch, shopped for veggies and strawberries and then headed home about 1:30.  Still no luck with the door, the repair guy was here, but really didn't know anything more than we could figure out.  We just kind of hung out then about 5:00 headed out for dinner with Denny and Jan.  We just went to 'Howies', a family dinner, where we all had the meat loaf, not bad, and then got home about 6:30, just in time for Jan and I to go play Bingo.  Jan ended up winning 2 games....me none, but we had a good time.  Back home about 9:00 then off to bed by 11:00.

Today we got up and out the door about 8:00, Jan and Denny are packing up and hitting the road , heading up to Myrtle Beach, SC, with a stop somewhere in between.  After they left a few more phone calls about the door, service guy here again, I finally go to do laundry about 11:00.  All the washers in the CG are full and there are people waiting.  I go back to the RV get Brad and over to the laundromat across the street.  I work on the laundry and Brad went to pay the service guys $200.00 for telling us they can do nothing to help.....what a rip off.  We get done at the laundromat, then home with me and Brad's off and running again.  He gets back so we begin the 2 hour job of packing and stowing the outside decorations, chairs, etc.    At about 6:00 we ordered take-out from Coyote Rojo, can't open the door from the outside, so one of us has to stay inside, so back to the RV for an eat-in, take-out dinner.  So now I am just trying to finish the blog, watching NCIS....not a good combo.

We are leaving tomorrow, so I'll try to keep things up to date.  See ya, Diane

Back in Bushnell

Hello all,

I am finally back from PA and hope to be able to recount some of the previous week.

First off I managed to get up Tuesday 3/12 at 4:00 AM and get over to the O'Donnell house at 5:15 to catch a ride to the airport with Matt, his Mom and Jim.  Carol and Jim were flying out about 2 hours ahead of me, but with Brad's bum leg it really wasn't practical for him to drive me to Orlando.  I finally get on the plane about 9:30, a two hour lay over in Atlanta and finally get to Harrisburg about 3:00.  My nieces Brittany and Alison picked me up at the airport, took me to dad's and hung out for about 20 min. until they had to get back to school for play practice (I think).  I got a call from Karen and talked with her for about 30 min., then dad got home about 5:30 and off to the Brown Stone for dinner we went.  At one point dad thought I was going to fall asleep in my plate, but I managed to finish my dinner then we headed home, watched some TV and off to bed for a good nights sleep.

We got up the next day and just had breakfast at the house, hung out for a while then headed over to have lunch with Lynne and Chris.  We waited and waited and waited, then went to lunch without Lynne, but she did manage to come join us a little later.  I then took Lynne's car and headed over to her house, unpacked, chatted with Rick and waited for her to call for a ride home.  We were both still full from a large lunch, so we just had a snack for dinner, not a bad day and it was nice to see everyone.

Turnpike Tunnels
Somewhere last night I talked with Shane and  he asked me to take him to Pittsburgh to pick up his new truck (new to him).  I didn't want to drive the jeep so I borrowed Lynne's car and headed over to his house about 7:30 Thursday morning.  I picked him up, stopped got gas, a quick bite to eat and we were on the turnpike by 8:15.  We get off at the Donegal exit, call (possum Rob's) mom and she met us at the McDonald's.  After about a 30-40 min ride we arrive at the bank where they were not sure they would give us the title.  That only took a few minutes to resolve, title in hand then off to the Notary.  Things just didn't go quite as easy as we thought but about 2.5 hours later, we are headed back to Dillsburg, me in Lynne's car and Shane in his new truck.  I got back to Lynne's and Shane showed up a bit later, first to show off his truck and second to help Rick move some things in the house.  Lynne got home about 7:30, light dinner and a fairly early night for us all.

Friday Lynne and Rick are off to work and I slowly got ready to head over to dad's planning on spending the day with him.  We headed out, stopped at the Credit Union, got Lynne's oil changed, and then off to one of the fun things we do together, the Hollywood Casino.  We spent about 3 hours there, taking time out of people watching and playing the games, to have a slice of pizza for lunch.  I then take him home, then back to Lynn's and out to the VFW for dinner.  We hung out for a while then off to bed about 10:30, early morning planned (for a Saturday)

Snow at the 5K
We got up Saturday morning, showered and out the door about 8:20.  We are headed over to Rossmoyne to watch Chris and Thom in their 5K run, and Meghan in the fun run of 1 mile.  It was a cold, rainy, snowy, miserable morning, but I was glad to see them all participate.  Lynne, dad and I headed out about 11:00 for a bite to eat, then Lynne headed home while dad and I headed to the school to see Taylor's Volleyball game.  The whole Brown Family was there, dad, myself and then Chris stopped in with Grady and Meghan.  Some how Thom's cell phone ended up in Lynne's car, so they were meeting us at the school to pick it up.

Kaydence with Nana
at the VB Tournament
Dad took me back to Lynne's about 3:30, and the next thing is Toni is coming over to spend the night.  Great meal, Lynne made steaks and asparagus and Toni brought cheesy scalloped potatoes and muffins.  We then played cards (Lynne and I lost) but we did have fun.  Cards were over about 10:00, Lynne and Rick off to bed, then me, then Toni.....long cold day.  Fun day, lots to do and then a good nights sleep.

Lynne and Toni
Card Night

We got up Sunday and Toni left about 9:30-10:00.  Lynne and I moved slowly and then headed up to the 'Old Sled Works' antique shop in Duncannon, she wanted to get a tin she saw a few weeks ago, but it was gone.  Of course I did end up buying two S&P shaker sets and she even managed to spend some money.....how odd.  Usually she talks me into spending money and she puts everything back, good day, didn't happen.  Back home, dumped her off and I headed out to have dinner with Melanie and crew for Keisha's B-Day.  Nice time.  I got home, Lynne was resting on the sofa (eyes all but shut) watched some TV then I headed to my room.  I think we all headed off to bed by 10:00.

March Snow
Monday Lynne is off, but started working at 6:00 AM from home.  I got up, showered and was calling the Notary service about getting the registration card for the RV.  She had the check for 2 weeks but didn't do anything, was waiting for me to call.....duh.  Lynne and I head down to the Notary place and 1.5  hours later.....no registration card, needless to say, I'm not a happy camper.  We then headed up and met Shane for lunch, then off to Middletown.  We stopped at the Fedex store for a box, Rite Aid and Giant, then over to Dad's.  The snow started coming down pretty good, so she left about 3:00-3:30.  Dad and I just hung out watching TV and chatting and then had dinner, burgers and left over potatoes for dinner.  We cleaned up the dishes, watched 'Bones' and he headed to bed about 10:00 to watch the news while I got ready, watched the news in the living room and headed to bed by 11:00.

Tuesday we got up, headed to PennDot, where I was in and out within 10 min. to get my DL license (impressed). Then off to Giant for another bag of chips and pretzels (2 boxes packed and ready to ship to FL).  Off to Rite Aid, lunch with Lynne where I got my jeans (which she had) and she got her office keys (which I had) and then off and running again.  Lynne went back to work and Dad and I headed to Fedex to ship the boxes then off to the airport by 2:30.  Dad parked and went in for a cup of coffee with me, then I headed through security, watching dad who was looking sad....  I get checked in and it's off to Florida.  It was an uneventful flight, arrived on time and Brad actually drove over to pick me up, got lost on the way out of the airport, and finally got home home about 11:00.

Today I got up and started going through all the boxes of things that were ordered and delivered.  Some got returned, some were kept.  Cleaned up the RV, played Pokeno (did well), back home then off to Shawna's to return dishes and borrowed luggage.  Stopped at Shari's (not home) then back home, dinner and blogging the rest of the night.

I'm tired, it is now 9:30, so I'll be back another day.    Diane

Still in Bushnell

Well here it is Tuesday morning and I'm finally back.

Snoopy
Our bleached out Inka
Thursday we headed over to Shawna's to get our mail....and what do we find....a bleached out Inka.  OK, Inka didn't get bleached, but they now have a boarder, Snoopy, who seems very nice and is beautiful.

Brad relaxing after
a 'rough' day

We got our mail and left, stopped at the hardware store looking for a sign holder, but no luck.  We were headed back into Bushnell, when we turned around and headed back to Shawna's.  They had used our propane tank for their RV, but the one we now had didn't seem to hook up as easy, so we went back for ours.  Off to ParGas for propane, but I had to do a detour to Lickity Splits for Ice cream.  We finally get propane and head home, and the neighbor across the street was kind enough to come over and get the propane out of the back of the car for me, thank you again.  Brad got the propane hooked up, then we just sat out side, talking with most of our neighbors who came over to see how he was doing.   We just had tomato sandwiches for dinner then got Brad settled inside and I headed to play Bingo.

Toby protecting Mom and
Dads Signs
Friday we got up and moved fairly slow.  We really had nothing to do other than get Brad to the Barber at 1:15.  We left here about 11:30 and headed up to Howie's for lunch, then stopped at the animal control to see if they had any small dogs for adoption.  Doesn't if figure, they just adopted out 15 of them through out the week and had no small, nice dogs left.  Off to the Barber, get the hair cut then heading home.....Oops, I just can't pass Lickity Splits, stopped one more time, and then I wonder why we never want dinner.  The neighbors across the street from us are shuffleboard players and Rose got player of the week and then they got combined player of the week, so here is the dog protecting the yard signs.

Saturday I am finally going stir crazy, not being able to go and do, but I know that it won't last that much longer.  I did go for my 5 mile bike ride and then later ran to Wal-Mart for some things that we needed here at home.   When I got in the shower this AM, the shower head broke, now it just points to the ground and I went to the RV shop close to here and Wal-Mart, but no body had any like the one we have.  So while Brad did the taxes, I internet shopped.....oh no.  I found a replacement part for the shower, a stand for our sign, ordered shampoo and a computer table.  Now my CC is saying 'ouch', but it's all stuff we have been looking for and internet shopping is a good way to find things.

Shawna feeding Chris P.
Sunday we got up and I got ready to head to the laundromat.  I thought at 7:30 I would be the only one there, but I was wrong, three others already there and more heading in when I was finished.  Back to the RV, just in time to shower and head over to Shawna's for dinner at 1:00.  We got there just before noon, and actually had some nice time with the whole family.  We had a nice dinner and too much sweet stuff for dessert, then headed home with full bellies (no Lickity Splits today).  We stopped at Winn Dixie on the way home for white American cheese.  It was already 4:00 so while I was there I got some ham and figured we could just have grilled ham and cheese for dinner....as it ended up, one each and we were both full again.     I worked on my list for leaving on Tuesday and got a hold of Shari, I guess I will be catching a ride to the airport with them at 5:00 AM tomorrow morning, I'm just not sure Brad could drive home from Orlando.

So I am blogging this AM and starting to stress a little, I need to start getting ready and packing for tomorrow.  My list of things to get done today grew a lot large that I thought it would be.

Interesting times

Hi,

We did go to the O'Donnells for dinner, made spaghetti instead of burgers on the grill... windy and 45 degrees.  After dinner we were entertained by McKayden and the smallest house pet, Kita. She actually had the pig jumping off the ground for food (I didn't know pigs could jump).  We were there until about 7:30 then headed back to the RV.

Our new sign
Monday we got up and headed to the Webster Flea and Farm Market.  We finally got a nice wooden sign for out front and picked up some fresh Strawberries, Blueberries and Tomatoes.  We were there until about 1:00 then headed up to Shawna and Shari's to drop off some of the fruit we got.  On our way home we stopped at Lickity Splits for ice cream for a late lunch.  We got home and hung up our new sign...yea, and then ended having a hot dog for dinner, just before 'Bones' came on.  I do have to mention, when we got back from the flea Market, we had new neighbor.  I was amazed to see her home made camper (not for me).  She makes the best of it, but seems to repack everything on a daily basis.

Campers come in all
sizes and shapes

Tuesday we got up and did our normal bike rides.  We had leftovers for lunch and then I got a shower, getting ready to do some shopping and get pennies so I can play Pokeno on Wednesday and Brad was heading up to play Pickle Ball.  I stopped at CVS (sorry guys) and then headed to the bank....no luck, I'm not a member so no pennies for me, so I borrowed McKayden and went back.  Since she is a member and we needed pennies, no problem this time.  I took her back home and was just getting ready to pull into Wal-Mart when Brad called, not good.  He got hurt playing pickle ball, but told me to grab what we needed, and a bag of ice, then head home.   'Til I get home, the pain is pretty bad, so unload the car, reload with Brad, stop at the O'Donnell's to borrow crutches and off to Urgent Care.  We headed to the Urgent Care Matt and Shari recommended in Clermont, and ended up being impressed with the place.  It was easy to find as it was right across for the 'Orange Tower', and no it is not orange, that is just what it is called, but we were in and out of there in 45 min.  Nothing broken, it appears to be a pulled/tore a muscle in the back of his calf.  A quick stop at Wendy's for dinner (yuck) and then headed home.  He finally gets in and half settled, just in time for  NCIS, then he headed to bed, but didn't get much sleep to uncomfortable and a bit a pain.

We got up Wednesday and needless to say didn't do much...no bike ride,  but Brad managed to get a shower, and was wore out after that.  We had a quick lunch, then he laid down on the sofa to rest and I headed up for my first attempt at Pokeno....lots of fun. I get back and it appears that Brad has been on the phone, trying to schedule appointments, and managed to get at least one done.  We chit chatted for a while then about 5:30 started dinner (Brad was grilling).  We actually managed to get that done without a lot of problems, eat and then just hang our for the evening,  The worst part is that Brad can't do much and there is nothing on TV.  Usually we would be out walking or bike riding, but all we can do is complain about the 30 channels and nothing to watch.  Oh well.

Today is Thursday, we've had breakfast and I am now working on the Blog.  We need to go get propane and head over to Shawna's to pick up our mail.  So I'll be back another day to let you know how it all works out.  Diane

Still in Sumterville

Hi, I'm back.

Thursday I got pulled into the Line Dance Lesson (oh darn) :-) and on my way back to the RV I ran into Brad heading up to play Pickle Ball.  I went up and watched for a little while and figured he would be done soon, but it was about 2.5 hours later until he was headed home...ouch, my muscles ache.  I hung out here at the RV site and had a nice time chit-chatting with Cathy, who was cleaning, getting ready to leave tomorrow.  Normally they play Bingo on Mondays and I play on Thursdays, but since they were leaving, they played and saved me a seat....nice,  I won  $25.00 dollars so I ended up $5.00 ahead of my cost.

Campground plants
Friday we had breakfast at Howie's and were back for my activities day meeting at 10:45.  Brad went for a bike ride, while I spoke with Shane.  After that we got cleaned up and headed up to the club house for lunch and the jam session...then off to Shari's for a visit.    Grocery shopped, signed up for the pot luck dinner on Saturday, then had dinner at home and just lazed around for a while.

Saturday we had the CG Activities day which included a shuffle board tournament, craft show, scavenger hunt, golf cart parade, golf cart rodeo, a bicycle obstacle course, pot luck dinner and a dance.  I helped out with the scavenger hunt and the golf cart rodeo, (and forgot my camera) made baked spaghetti for the pot luck dinner and rearranged some of the cupboards.  Brad did his bike ride (10 miles) and all the laundry (yea).  We then headed up to the dinner, but only lasted until the DJ started, then headed back home.  It was a long chilly day and both of us were tired.

More plants

It is now Sunday and Brad headed up to play pickle ball, but it was cancelled due to it being to chilly (by Florida standards), I showered and am getting ready to head to Wal-Mart (ugh) and Brad is on his 10 mile bike ride.  We are heading over to the O'Donnell's for dinner, so I'll keep you all posted in a day or to.
